Launched in November 2022, This campaign is dedicated to exposing the true nature of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and advocating for its designation as a terrorist organization by EU and all other jurisdictions. Recognized by the United States as a terrorist organization, the IRGC was established following the 1979 Islamic Revolution and operates independently from Iran's regular armed forces. It plays a critical role in Iran's governance and its regional influence, often extending its activities beyond national borders, thereby contributing to regional instability.
Our objective is to bring the IRGC's influence to the forefront and advocate for a unified international stance against it by highlighting its designation as a terrorist entity. By doing so, we aim to foster a deeper understanding of the obstacles to peace and freedom in Iran and across the Middle East, urging a consistent global response to this threat.
The Global Parliamentary Network initiative brings together legislators from around the world who are committed to promoting human rights, democracy and freedom.
We work together to get global decision makers to adopt policies that support human rights and secular democracy, with the goal of creating worldwide momentum for change.
This common platform amplifies their collective voice and promotes international unity, supporting the people's quest for freedom and democracy.
Our strategy to exert maximum pressure on the Iranian regime includes a key focus on thwarting groups identified as contributors to global terrorism and peace disruption from evading sanctions and manipulating global finance.
These groups often circumvent economic sanctions through a complex network of businesses and shell companies, sustaining their influence and operations. Our aim is to disrupt these activities by exposing their tactics. Our investigative and advocacy work seeks to close the loopholes exploited by such groups, ensuring the effective application of sanctions.
Curtailing the financial maneuverability of these organizations and highlighting their malpractices intensifies pressure on them, aiding the push for broader democratic change and stability.
We recognize that one of the pillars supporting oppressive actions and external aggression by certain regimes is their economic power. Despite the imposition of sanctions, there are still legal commercial activities that persist. We firmly believe that activating the social responsibility of economic actors is crucial in supporting brave populations worldwide in their fight for freedom and democracy.
Our campaign highlights the corporate social responsibility of businesses engaged with totalitarian regimes, emphasizing the ethical impact of such associations. By spotlighting these regimes' human rights abuses, we urge companies to reconsider their partnerships. We call upon them to prioritize human rights, democracy, and the well-being of people over short-term financial gains.
